A PLACE TO START

Find help. Find opportunity.

Explore city, county and nonprofit resources to help you navigate everyday life, access support and discover opportunities. Search by need, organization or neighborhood—from healthcare and housing to education, employment, legal assistance and community programs.

Discover Black-led, Black-focused and Black-community-serving organizations across Los Angeles County, including Compton, Watts, Wilmington, Pasadena and Altadena, alongside regional providers and a dedicated Skid Row / Downtown section.

Our coverage also includes Lancaster, Palmdale, surrounding Antelope Valley communities and the Inland Empire. Each listing identifies its service area so you can find the right provider.

MAKE THE RIGHT CONNECTION

A guide, with context.

Service boundaries and current intake matter. Check the provider’s requirements before applying or visiting.

Geography and eligibility

Lancaster and Palmdale are in Los Angeles County. Riverside and San Bernardino county programs have separate eligibility boundaries. A regional listing does not establish that every LA County resident qualifies. Neighborhood tags reflect documented presence or outreach; confirm the current service location and area with the provider.

Community labels and private legal services

Black-led, Black-focused and Black-community-serving are distinct labels, used only when supported by the guide’s recorded evidence. They do not imply race-exclusive eligibility. A Black attorney listing does not establish Black ownership of an entire firm. Private law firms and commercial referral directories are identified separately from free legal aid and nonprofit providers; fees and representation depend on the provider.

Sources, verification and availability

This is a starting directory, not a complete inventory of every available service. Each listing records its sources, service area and verification notes. A working website does not confirm enrollment, available appointments, funding, professional license status or eligibility. Official county listings are labeled clearly when used instead of a provider’s website. Report a broken link or outdated detail below.
