Journalist Kevin Powell Celebrates New Book Release with Malik Books in L.A

Malik Books presents a brunch and book signing with author, journalist and political pundit Kevin Powell from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Post & Beam restaurant.

Powell is the author of “Grocery Shopping With My Mother,” a book of 32 poems, which originated as social media posts, about his weekly shopping trips with his elderly mother in New Jersey.

Crafted like an album, with four bonus tracks, the book of poetry dives into the complexities of relationships and contemporary themes with honesty and vulnerability.
