Los Angeles, CA – KCAL-TV evening news anchor Chauncy Glover, passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 39. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Glover’s cause of death was ruled as “acute intoxication” resulting from a combination of methamphetamine and chloroethane. His death has been classified as an accident.

Chloroethane, a colorless gas commonly used in manufacturing dyes, solvents, refrigerants, and for numbing the skin during medical procedures, can have dangerous effects when misused. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), inhaling chloroethane can cause temporary feelings of drunkenness, dizziness, and, in severe cases, accidental death. When combined with methamphetamine, a powerful and addictive stimulant, the substances tragically led to Glover’s passing.

The full autopsy report, which will provide further details into the circumstances surrounding Glover’s death, is expected to be released by the Medical Examiner’s office by the end of March.
