The LA Strong Foundation Supports Los Angeles Communities With Hands On Leadership

LOS ANGELES, CA— In the wake of devastating fires in Altadena and Pasadena, The LA Strong Foundation, founded by Drew and Maxine Koven has emerged as a hands-on force for equity and relief, providing resources to families and children who need them most.
The married couple understood the inequities of underserved communities while sponsoring youth little league teams. Drew recalled watching teams from marginalized neighborhoods face opponents with brand-new uniforms and equipment.
“They felt like they lost before they even played,” he said. “We wanted to level the playing field and give kids the confidence they deserve.”
That commitment quickly grew beyond the baseball diamond.

With their 12-year-old son often helping at community events and their older son off pursuing a career in venture capital, the couple has committed to service as a cornerstone of their life.
In May, the LA Strong Foundation supported Actress Tiffany Haddish by making a contribution and attending her Soul Train themed fundraiser for foster youth.
The She Ready Foundation founded by Haddish, empowers kids and young adults through skills programs, scholarships, and resources.
Most recently, LA Strong stepped up locally, answering a call from Sisters of Watts to fund air conditioning units for their new community house. With support from Keivon of The Wins and Lessons Foundation, the AC project was installed with professional electrical help.

Collaboration has become a hallmark of The LA Strong Foundation’s work. On Sep, 7th in Gardena, LA Strong co-sponsored the Wins and Lessons Foundation’s annual back-to-school event, providing supplies and resources for kids across the city.
Looking ahead, the LA Strong Foundation plans to expand its outreach across Los Angeles, continuing to focus on fire recovery, youth empowerment, and grassroots partnerships. The LA Strong Foundation is proving that when families and organizations lead with service, communities can rise stronger.
