Leimert Park: White Men Cant Jump, Hulu Partner With Black on The Block
Leimert Park, CA – May 25, 2023 – In an amazing collaboration, “WHITE MEN CAN’T JUMP” joined forces with BLACK ON THE BLOCK while celebrating the release of the highly anticipated film remake. The Black on The Block community event showcased and uplifted entrepreneurs of color and highlighted black-owned businesses throughout Los Angeles. It provided a platform for small businesses and entrepreneurs to exhibit and sell their merchandise and food, creating an authentic cultural experience.
“White Men Can’t Jump,” a modern twist on the iconic 1992 film, celebrates the streetball hustling culture of Los Angeles. The movie stars multi-platinum rap superstar Jack Harlow in his acting debut, alongside Sinqua Walls as Kamal.
The festivities included an exclusive Q&A session featuring Alphonse from “White Men Can’t Jump” and Myles Bullock, moderated by Maya Abraham from VIBE Magazine. Celebrity guests, friends, family, and fans united to honor the film’s latest release.
Directed by Calmatic, the film also features Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Vince Staples, Myles Bullock, and Lance Reddick. With Kenya Barris and Doug Hall as the writers and Kenya Barris and Paul Hall as the producers, “White Men Can’t Jump” brings together a talented team committed to delivering a captivating and entertaining story.
The block party saw an array of influencers and celebrity guests, including J. Alphonse and Myles Bullock from the “White Men Can’t Jump” cast, along with Marcus Scribner from “Blackish/Grownish,” Porscha Coleman from “The Parkers & Disney Pixel Perfect,” and many more notable personalities from the entertainment industry.
The event’s vendors helped create an immersive experience. Hoop Dream Studio showcased their incredible work, A La Mode Events curated the bar, Capture This 360 provided a 360 photo booth, and Fire Photo Booth delighted attendees with a selfie booth.
To add to the excitement, WHITE MEN CAN’T JUMP curated an official playlist, featuring artists like Jack Harlow, Anderson. Paak, SZA, Jadakiss, Styles P, Bryson Tiller, Missy Elliott, and more. The playlist, available on Spotify, perfectly complemented the vibe of the film and the event.
