Somerville is inspired by the 1940’s Central Avenue Jazz era–a time when Black Los Angeles nightlife thrived through elegance, music, and culture. The restaurant transports diners back to that golden age, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and community pride. Next door, Ambiance by Bernadette carries that same energy—elevating fashion lovers through custom jewelry, apparel, and accessories designed to make bold, timeless statements.

Founded by designer Bernadette Garland, a graduate of FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) and former corporate professional, Garland turned her dream into reality after stepping out on faith to start her own fashion business.
