Brotherhood Crusade Partners With Dodgers Foundation For Altadena Turkey Drive

Altadena, CA–The Brotherhood Crusade, a trusted pillar in Los Angeles for 57 years, continued its legacy of service this week with a major Thanksgiving food distribution in Altadena. In response to ongoing food insecurity affecting families across the region, the organization launched the first of two large-scale Grab & Go Drive-Thru events, offering a full Thanksgiving meal package to community members in need.
The Altadena food drive took place Saturday, November 8 at Loma Alta Park. By 10 a.m., cars lined the park as volunteers and partner organizations worked together to distribute 750 baskets, each containing a whole turkey, traditional holiday sides, gift cards, and additional essentials to help families prepare a dignified holiday meal at home. Each vehicle received one basket, ensuring wide distribution throughout the community. Volunteers from the Why Not Foundation, Dodgers Foundation, Baby2Baby, AHF, UCLA Health, and other partners worked side by side with Brotherhood Crusade team members, passing out holiday meals and connecting with families.
Brotherhood Crusade will host its second Thanksgiving Grab & Go event in South Los Angeles on November 20 at Algin Sutton Park, where another 750 baskets will be distributed.

This event was made possible through a powerful coalition of partners, including the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Kathryn Kurka Children’s Health, Russell Westbrook Why Not Foundation, Baby2Baby, UCLA Health, and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. Their collective effort brought together food support, health resources, and family essentials—reflecting a shared commitment to uplifting communities that have faced economic challenges and rising living costs this year.
