Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles announced they have officially closed the doors to their Location on Pico Boulevard.
You can still visit several other Roscoe’s in Los Angeles, however, this location was an iconic spot frequented by politicians and many in Black Hollywood.
In 1975, Harlem native Herb Hudson opened his first Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in Long Beach, CA.
The Pico location gained immense notoriety in recent years, thanks to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass who brought Barack Obama to Roscoe’s during his presidential campaign for re-election in 2011.

To honor Obama’s visit to Roscoe’s, the #9 ‘Country Boy’ that Obama ordered during his visit, was renamed the ‘Obama Special.’
